In Ewe, a language spoken in Ghana, Togo, and parts of Benin, "Sabala" translates to onion. Imagine reinterpreting SabaAla specifically to mean the shallot onion—a nuanced, versatile, and layered vegetable—and using its metaphorical essence to create a transformative STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) teaching principle.

The shallot onion is emblematic of complexity and integration. Each layer represents a crucial part of a system, working together to contribute to a whole. Its unique flavor adds depth to dishes, much like diversity in thought and perspectives enriches problem-solving in STEM. In this context, the "Principle of SabaAla" could serve as a guiding principle for a curriculum designed to inspire exploration, resilience, and interconnected thinking.
